# Archive material

Older material from the old website, which is of general interest, will be archived over time and the items loaded onto this new site. Links will be found on the "Latest news" page (left hand coloumn).

Navigating the site

The main site navgation is via the menubar which appears on each main page just below the Quekett Logo and header. Each of the links will take you directly to each main section of the site. You will find extra links on some of the main pages - these will take you to subsidiary pages within that section of the site.

All main pages and most subsidiary pages will also show a quick link option such as:

"You are here > Home > Links > Microscopical Sites"

this particlar one would allow you to jump directly back from the Microscopcal Sites page, to the Home page or the main LInks page.

Each link appears in text with a maroon colour - e.g Members' area home page which changes colour to when the mouse cursor hovers over it.

Similar links within the site take the form of highlighted text - such as - top of page which changes colour to in a similar manner. It should be easy to spot these links amongst the other text.

Image display

Some images will also act as hyperlinks and this fact will be noted in the accompanying text - as per the image below - allow your mouse to hover over it.

When viewing images you may see 'Image x of y' in the caption at the bottom left of the image. This indicates that the image is one of a series. To move forwards or backwards through the series hover the mouse cursor towards the right or left of the image to reveal the next/previous buttons. You can start viewing the series by clicking on any image.

Compatibility

The website has been optimised for working with Windows Explorer (version 8) and has also been proved to work correctly with Mozilla Firefox (version 3.6.13) and Safari (version 5.0.3). It should work with other current browsers, but this cannot be guaranteed, nor can it be certain that it will work correctly with earlier versions of the browsers mentioned.

Access to the site

The site now resides at the address - www.quekett.org.uk (for 'logstical' reasons it wasnt possible to use www.quekett.org for a direct link- as this was already in use for the link to the old Natural History Museum hosting site). However, using either www.quekett.org or www.quekett.org.uk will now direct your browser to this new site.

Due to storage constraints on the server, the Slide Database (members' area) and Forum are hosted on another server - www.quekett.net
